About Clive
London Roots, Adriatic Soul, Documentary Eye.
Hello there, I’m Clive.
Originally from London, I now live full-time on the island of Brač in Croatia. My wife, Klaudi, and I split our time between Brač and the Old Town of Dubrovnik, sharing our home with six cats and one very patient dog.
If you’re planning an intimate wedding or elopement in Croatia, you already know how beautiful it is — and how much of an adventure it can be to organise.
We’ve been through it ourselves.
Klaudi and I were married in Dubrovnik, and that experience changed how I see weddings entirely. It wasn’t the perfection that stayed with us — it was the atmosphere, the people and the small, unscripted moments in between everything else.
That’s what I focus on now.
I don’t just photograph weddings. I document what it feels like to be there — the real connection between people, the quiet in-between moments, and the energy of the day as it naturally unfolds. My aim is simple: to create photographs that still feel true years from now, not just beautiful in the moment.
Your Man on the Ground
Planning a wedding or vow renewal from the UK or US means making decisions about a place you may never have visited, with suppliers you've never met, in a language that isn't yours.
Being from the U.K. and living here full time means I can bridge that gap. I know the locations, the light, the logistics — and I'll tell you honestly if something isn't going to work the way you've imagined it.
A couple recently came to me wanting to photograph their vow renewal on Hvar. Originally they wanted to do it in the evening after a full day visiting the Blue Caves — six hours on the water, and that was after driving 75 minutes from Sućuraj to Hvar town that morning. I had to be honest with them: you'll be tired, windswept, possibly sunburned and I want you to look epic in these photos.
So they moved it to the following morning, extending their stay by a night. I also helped find them a celebrant when the official registry office hadn't replied to their enquiries. They now have a day that allows them time to enjoy the moment.
That's what I mean by man on the ground.
My Approach: Documentary Wedding Photography
I specialise in quieter, more intentional destination weddings across Croatia. My work is rooted in observation — documenting real moments as they unfold, without staging, direction, or performance.
My focus is on the real moments, the in-between details, and the genuine connections between you and your friends. I’m looking for the quiet nerves, the loud laughs and the honest energy of the day. There is no awkward posing or forced smiles here—just authentic, real images that tell a story that is uniquely yours.
People often ask what I’m looking for. The answer is simple — I’m paying attention. The way a parent looks before the ceremony, or a friend reacting during the speeches are the moments that stay with you.
I particularly love black and white photography and I always include a selection in my galleries. Stripped back and timeless, black and white photography has an enduring charm, that rises above current trends, focusing our attention on the subjects and their emotions much more powerfully than colour images.
Your gallery will always be a thoughtful mix of colour and black and white, chosen carefully to suit the moments and the story of the day.
For Couples Planning Something Different
Many traditional wedding supplier lists lean toward a very specific style of celebration.
If you’re looking for something quieter, more intentional and less focused on performance, you’re probably already thinking differently about your wedding day.
As a Londoner now based in Croatia, I work with couples who value experience over production — presence over performance and real moments over rigid structure.
If that sounds like you, I’d love to hear more.
Why the Unposed still includes the Classic's.
While my heart is in reportage, I’m also a realist. I know that your family and closest friends have likely flown across the world to be with you.
Getting a photo with your parents or grandparents—images that they will treasure and you will keep forever—is just as important as the candid shots. I make sure we get those essential family portraits done efficiently and comfortably, so you can get back to the party.
Based on Brac, Serving all of Dalmatia
Whether you are at a Fort Lovrjenac in Dubrovnik, a villa in Split, or a seculded beach on Hvar or Vis, I’m happy to travel. I cover all of Dalmatia, from Zadar down to the southern coast, and because I’m local, there are no additional travel fees.
I’d love to hear about your plans. Let’s skip the photoshoot and capture the wedding instead.
Living and working in Dalmatia is a privilege. To give back to the community that makes these weddings so magical, I quietly dedicate 10% of every booking fee to local volunteers who care for the region's most iconic four-legged residents. It’s my way of ensuring the soul of the Adriatic remains as vibrant as the day you say 'I do'
I am also honoured to be an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) in Documentary Photography—a distinction that reflects my commitment to authentic, technical excellence and the art of visual storytelling
