Dubrovnik Wedding Photographer: Your Expert Guide to Getting Married in Croatia
Are you planning a Dubrovnik destination elopement or micro wedding ?
Are you planning a dream Dubrovnik destination wedding or an intimate elopement on the Croatian coast? You couldn’t have chosen a more breathtaking setting.
Known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers a spectacular backdrop for your celebration. The ancient city walls, car-free cobbled limestone streets, glittering sea views, and iconic terracotta rooftops make it one of the most photogenic places in Europe. Add world-class hotels, exceptional restaurants, and the city’s star turns in Game of Thrones and Star Wars, and you’ve got a location that is both historic and cinematic.
From sunset drinks at Buza Bar to peaceful early-morning portraits when the Old Town feels like it belongs to you alone, the opportunities for romance — and unforgettable photography — are endless.

Why Get Married in Dubrovnik? (We Did — and now we live here!)
How do I know that choosing a Dubrovnik wedding is an inspired decision? Because my wife and I got married here ourselves.
We fell in love with Dubrovnik in the early 2000s, got engaged and married here in 2002, and have been returning ever since. I know first-hand what it’s like to plan a wedding in this incredible city — the logistics, the light, the locations, and the magic.
We married in June, on a day that reached 40 degrees. The guys wore morning suits, the girls wisely embraced floaty dresses and big hats, and the whole thing was unforgettable. Our ceremony took place in Sv. Vlaho on the Stradun, followed by a short boat ride — and much-needed cold drinks — to Fort Lovrijenac (or “The Red Keep”) for a party that lasted until dawn.
One of my favourite memories: walking home around Kolorina Bay at sunrise, shoes in hand, surrounded by our closest friends. Pure magic.

Your Multi-Day Dubrovnik Wedding Celebration
A destination wedding in Croatia is rarely just a single day — it’s a multi-day celebration with your favourite people. It may be a slightly smaller, more intimate gathering than a wedding at home, but that intimacy is what makes it so special.
And let’s be honest: not many of your friends will turn down the chance to celebrate with you in King’s Landing.
Pre-Wedding Events
A welcome drinks reception is a brilliant way to bring everyone together before the big day. It’s relaxed, fun, and gives me — as your Dubrovnik wedding photographer — a perfect chance to capture candid moments, natural portraits, and the excitement building among your guests.
The Wedding Day
After the ceremony, you might take a short boat ride along the coast or to Lokrum Island, or head to your reception at Fort Lovrijenac, Villa Orsula, Hotel Excelsior or Hotel Villa Dubrovnik

Best Time of Year to Get Married in Dubrovnik (and for the Best Photos)
Dubrovnik is extraordinary year-round, but for weddings, the sweet spots are May and September. The weather is gorgeous, the Old Town is less crowded, and the light is beautifully soft.
Try to avoid late July and August if possible — it gets extremely hot and very busy

A Pro Tip for Perfect Photos
Ask your wedding planner about timing. Dubrovnik becomes significantly calmer after the cruise ships leave, usually around 4–5pm. This “golden window” is ideal for portraits, ceremonies, and romantic walks through the Old Town.
As your photographer, I’ll capture everything — from relaxed preparations to the late-night dance floor (including Aunt Betty breaking out the funky chicken before the predjelo (appetisers) are served).
