Small & Intimate Wedding Venues in Split, Croatia
Most wedding guides for Split focus on large hotels, grand ballrooms, or the obvious “Instagram spots.” They’re beautiful — but they’re often designed for scale, not intimacy. For couples planning small weddings or elopements, privacy, location and atmosphere matter far more than capacity
This guide highlights venues that actually work for 2–30 guests, including central Split options, coastal retreats, wineries, and private villas. Some are well-known, others are tucked just outside the city — but all share one thing in common: they create an intimate and unforgettable experience for couples who want something beyond the usual list.
This guide to small and intimate venues is part of my broader Split wedding guide, helping couples plan everything from elopements to boutique celebrations.
Even with a smaller number of venues, the focus here is on quality over quantity — helping you plan a wedding that feels authentic and relaxed. For a wider perspective on intimate weddings, check out my Elopements & Intimate Weddings in Croatia guide
Why Many Intimate Venues Aren’t Listed
You might notice that these types of venues don’t appear on the usual lists. There’s a reason:
· They don’t market heavily as wedding venues.
· They host only a handful of weddings per year, prioritising experience over volume.
· Some are private properties or boutique hotels designed for stays rather than large celebrations.
This scarcity isn’t a limitation — it’s part of the charm. Couples who find these spaces are rewarded with privacy, personality and memories that feel uniquely theirs. You can read my guide about eloping on Marjan Hill here.

For couples planning a small or intimate wedding in Split, the key isn’t chasing “top 10 venues” but finding spaces that suit your guest count, timing and vision. Some of the best options are slightly outside the city, while a few unique spots exist right in the heart of Split.
By focusing on privacy, experience and scale, you can create a wedding that feels entirely yours — not one that feels like a standard checklist item.

If this is the kind of day you're imagining...
I'm Clive — a documentary wedding photographer based on Brač, working with couples across Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar and Brač. I photograph things as they happen, not as they're staged.
Elopements start at €900. Full wedding days start at €2,400, all-inclusive, no hidden costs.
After the wedding, many couples choose to explore the coast a little more. If you are thinking of heading down to Dubrovnik and are not sure if a road trip or catamaran is the best option, then this guide may help you decide.
